Plowbuster Pinot Noir is produced from fruit sourced from Oregon's red, boulder strewn volcanic soils. A blend from the well-drained, dry-farmed soils of Parrett Mountain, the volcanic soils of Southern Oregon's Red Hills AVA, and volcanic vineyards in the Columbia Gorge.
Winemaker and former geologist, Mike Hallock, has always been fascinated by soils. He believes the volcanic soils give pinot noir a red-fruit driven, plush quality. Each vintage is truly different, reflecting the diverse weather patterns in the majestic state of Oregon.
Wine Enthusiast 88!
The Plowbuster blends in Southern Oregon Pinot with the Willamette Valley fruit--a winning combo in many value-priced offerings. There's ample acidity and drying tannins, in a gulpable wine that is zippy with fresh raspberry and cherry-fruit flavors.
Although, Plowbuster does not have a tasting room, with a little effort you can still
visit the real rock on the label. Plowbuster is Carabella Vineyard's second label. Carabella Vineyard has private seated tastings, appointment only, May through September. Call for an appointment.
